Hold Up… What’s A Roomba 960?
The Roomba 960 is a robot that vacuums your home by mapping it out, and going from room to room to clean it. This model even recharges itself and resumes cleaning when it runs out of battery.
The Roomba 960 requires a WiFi connection and the iRobot Home app to control and customise your new robot cleaners routine. Other than that, you can catch up on Netflix while your house gets cleaned.
I Can’t Seem to Access the Prices on Amazon US?
Lots of stores on Amazon US only ship domestically. In order to see the price, you’ll need to use a US ZIP code. I used the Portland ZIP code “97250”, and you could use it too if you want. The ZIP code you use won’t be applied to your shipping address – you only need it to view the prices.
If They Only Deliver Within the US, How Can I Get the Roomba To Singapore?
You’ll need to use a freight forwarder to get your Roomba 960 to Singapore and fortunately it’s easy. You’ll be able to get a US address from whichever one of the best US freight forwarders we’ve compared, and your Roomba 960 will be sent to their warehouse before being forwarded to your Singapore delivery address.
Based off the Amazon product information, we’ve calculated a rough estimate using each freight forwarder’s calculator:
Freight Forwarder | Shipping Cost | Total Cost (incl. GST) |
ezShip | ~S$32 | ~S$650.10 |
vPost | ~S$45.25 | ~S$664.30 |
Buyandship Singapore | ~S$54 | ~S$673.70 |
Comgateway | ~US$47.63 (~S$65.30) | ~S$685.80 |
If you want to go with the cheapest shipping option to maximise your savings, you’ll want to use ezbuy’s ezShip to send your Roomba 960 over to Singapore.
I’ve also used Comgateway a couple of times, and it’s my personal favourite because of their impeccable service, but yes it’s a little bit more expensive. If you need a little extra help with using freight forwarders, you can rely on our dummies guides:

How Do I Order on Amazon US?
One of the best things about Amazon is that it’s very consistent, even if your’e using it in different regions. The process is identical to checking out with Amazon Singapore, with only two differences:
- You’ll need to key in your US shipping address exactly as you see it on your freight forwarder account.
- Ensure you check out with your YouTrip card, and select the card currency as USD.
On the off chance that you run into any issues when paying with your YouTrip card directly on Amazon US, just link your YouTrip card to your PayPal account with the correct settings and pay for your Amazon purchase that way.
I’ve Ordered The Roomba! What’s Next?
Some freight forwarders might need you to key in your Amazon tracking number so they can notify you when their warehouse receives your package, while other freight forwarders will notify you automatically without needing you to do anything.
Just follow the instructions provided by your chosen freight forwarder and you’ll be fine!
My Roomba Has Arrived at the US Warehouse! How Do I Get It To Singapore?
Yay! You’re one step closer to literally having a robot clean your home for you. Now, you’ll need to enter your Singapore delivery address in your freight forwarder account and pay for your shipping. You’ll be getting your Roomba pretty soon!
iRobot, the company who manufactures Roomba vacuums, offers a 3-Year Floorcare Protection Plan. Unfortunately, it’ll only be honoured in the US since that’s where the machine was purchased. If this is a major concern for you, you’ll want to consider this before making your purchase.
If you ask me, I’m okay with saving a couple hundred dollars and going without a warranty, though it really is a matter of personal preference and what you feel comfortable with doing.
Do I Need To Pay GST?
Yes, you do actually. GST has to be paid on any item over S$400, or you could risk a hefty fine. The GST for the Roomba 960 is ~S$44.52. If you use ezShip for shipping, you should still be able to save ~S$250 on your Roomba purchase!
Yes, according to Singapore Customs, you’ll need to pay GST on items above S$400 (freight inclusive). If you choose freight forwarders (like ezbuy’s ezShip) that provide GST-bundling services, then you don’t have to declare with Singapore Customs because you’ll pay through the freight forwarder instead.
