Heads up folks, according to Straits Times, airfares are up to 78% higher this December holiday than before the Covid’19 pandemic. Time to start booking your flights early or avoid peak travel periods!
A one-way ticket to South Korea from Singapore is 78% more expensive on average for all cabin classes starting from 19 November 2022 onwards. While one-way tickets to the Philippines have increased by 70% on average for all cabin classes for the same period.
For those travelling to Malaysia this December, do take note that economy return flights to Kuala Lumpur have seen a 50% increase for the period of 19 – 31 December 2022. What’s more, flights to Europe have risen slightly by 10 – 20% with prices ranging from S$1,500 to S$1,800. However, the same can’t be said for London whose flight prices have only risen slightly by 5% for economy-class return tickets from 19 – 31 December.
However, not all news is bad news, tickets to Taiwan have dropped from around S$1,500 to S$1,000 since September. And flights to Japan have lowered their prices from S$2,800 to S$1,600!
