1. Seoul, Republic of Korea
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: South Korea has to be on this list. Home to many “spoil market” K-dramas that have us gushing over modern-day fairytale romances — i.e how adorably hard Park Seojoon’s Lee Young Joon tries to win over Kim Mi So’s (Park Min-young) heart at Everland Amusement Park in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (2018), or the countless times Seo Joon Hee (Jung Hae-In) makes sharing an umbrella in the rain look way more romantic than it is! While these fictional scenes are the result of great scriptwriting and a ton of enhanced effects, who says you still can’t recreate them with your own Oppa on your honeymoon? 😉 If anything, these South Korean productions made us believe in love in the first place!
We recommend hopping on a plane or taking a ferry ride to the nearby Jeju Island if time permits. Just remember that the four seasons are vastly different in Korea, so when planning activities lookout for the best-fit seasons!

2. Interlaken, Switzerland
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: With its towering mountains, deep Alpine lakes, charming small towns, and thriving cities that blend the old and the new — Switzerland is truly one of the most breathtaking countries in the world. It’s also dubbed one of the most romantic destinations (which is why it is the backdrop of so many Bollywood movies) on the globe!
Nestled in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps, is the town of Interlaken, popular with honeymooners for its scenic spots. Here, you can paraglide over Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, or ice skate at the famous ICE MAGIC rink in the heart of the town. Either one would be perfect for that moment when you look into your partner’s eyes and wonder how lucky you were to be with them — right before you realise that this is it, I’ve to wake up to this face every single day… Just kidding!

3. Ooty, India
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: Most famously known for its stunning views, tea plantations, misty hills, and waterfalls, Ooty is truly one of the most beautiful hill stations you’d find in Southern India. Here, you’ll have lots of Insta-worthy moments to capture with your partner against the picturesque backdrops of the Catherine Falls or after your 10 km hike up Doddabetta Peak!
While there is no direct flight from Singapore to Ooty, you can take a four-hour flight to Coimbatore, and journey via taxi from there.

4. Sydney, Australia
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: There’s just something about Australia’s rocky silhouettes and natural coastlines (away from the city) that is so alluring. That’s what makes this place so perfect for a honeymoon getaway, especially if you’re looking for an adventure mixed with some downtime for relaxation. There’s the famed Hunter Valley, a two-hour drive from Sydney where you can not only take part in wine-tasting but also enjoy a bird’s eye view of the vineyards on a hot air balloon ride!
Do not miss the Blue Mountains, home to The Three Sisters and where you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the rich Aboriginal culture of Australia (my highlight was learning the Aboriginal Corroboree dance).

5. Phuket, Thailand
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: Ahh Thailand. Whether it’s getting your bellies filled, spending hours lazing on the beach, or snorkelling with the abundant marine life — there’s something for every type of couple out there.
We recommend renting your own long-tail boat when you’re at Phi Phi islands and getting away from the crowd. When you’re out at sea, ask the boat uncle to bring you to Maya Bay and the other smaller islands (the famed James Bond island included). Thereafter, end the trip on a beautiful lull with a couple’s massage at any of the parlours along the beach. If you’ll like it, there’s also a nice hike up to see the ginormous Buddha on the island.

6. Malé, Maldives
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: Its capital, Malé, is the basecamp from which you can jet off to visit the numerous islands that make up the Maldives. Expect white sandy beaches and endless shades of blue, but don’t forget to participate in the range of water activities like dolphin-watching, sunset cruises, snorkelling, jet-skiing, and more!

7. Funen, Denmark

Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: Remember your childhood fairy tales The Ugly Duckling, The Princess and the Pea, The Nightingale, and even The Little Mermaid? All these, and a whole lot more, were either set in or inspired by this place, Denmark. Funen is also the birthplace of the author Hans Christian Andersen. So if fairytales were a huge part of both your childhoods, this might be the spot for you. Remember to check out the H.C. Andersen House in Odense, Funen, a Museum built-in 2021 where these fairy tales are brought to life!

Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: Isolated in Tomini Bay, Central Sulawesi, Togean Islands isn’t the easiest place to get to, but it’s worth the long journey over, with the gorgeous underwater reefs and scenery that’ll greet you. Here, you can either spend days relaxing on the white sandy beaches, take a trip underwater on a snorkelling or diving trip, or island-hop to the nearby Bajo Village. Because of how secluded it is, it’s a go-to destination for couples looking for a quiet escape.

10. Niagara Falls, Canada
Why It’s An Ideal Honeymoon Destination: Niagara Falls, consisting of three waterfalls, is thought to be the world’s fastest waterfall with about 700,000 gallons of water travelling down every second, and it’s huge that it spans across Ontario, Canada and New York, United States! A fun fact we also discovered — since the 1880s, Niagara Falls has been known as the Honeymoon Capital of the World, due to its romantic grandiosity!
