T15 Bar Review: Hidden Bar with Whisky & Cocktails

T15 Bar JB Review

Hidden behind a sliding wooden door, T15 Bar boasts a unique oriental Shanghai decor, live music, creative cocktails, and an impressive selection of whiskies!

If you’re wondering where to have a drink during your Johor Bahru (JB) weekend getaway, T15 Bar is just a 5-minute ride away from the checkpoint!

Unlike other bars, T15 Bar doesn’t have loud music or flashy signs to get your attention. In fact, you might just miss it if you don’t look hard enough.

When you arrive on 15 Jalan Kuning 2, you’ll spot a small area of wooden tables and Traditional Chinese Medicine drawers, with a small black sign that writes T15.

Wait, that’s it? This is the bar?

Sike! If you look closely, there’s a white label stuck on one of the wooden drawers that prompts you to press a hidden switch.

Boom! The wooden door on the right will slide open immediately, revealing the real T15 Bar behind. (If you’re wondering why our colleague looks so shaky in the photo, it’s because she’s excited to find the hidden switch.)

Ambience in T15 Bar

T15 Bar’s Old Shanghai theme remains consistent with its oriental decor of murals, paintings, floor tiles, lamps, and even sofa cushions. The quaint, cosy bar also has live music that switches between Mandopop and popular English hits throughout the night.

Since T15 Bar has a limited capacity of about 40 seats, the sofa area is only available when you commit to a minimum spending of RM 500 (SGD $166). When you’re visiting with a group of friends, that should be quite an easy amount to hit.

T15 Bar Menu

In addition to one page of cocktails, T15 Bar’s menu has countless of whiskies and the lists just seem to go on and on… (we weren’t able to snap every page). Click on the menu images to enlarge.

T15 Bar Prices

Considering its proximity to the checkpoint, it’s no surprise that T15 Bar’s prices are comparable to the bars in Singapore. From the menu photos above, you may have also spotted a very expensive Japanese Single Malt priced at RM 16,888 (SGD $5,629.30).

Why is there a teapot? That’s actually one of T15 Bar’s signature cocktails – Chrysanthemum Tea. What’s in it: Chivas Regal 18YO, homemade chrysanthemum tea, homemade chrysanthemum syrup and ginger ale.

The extensive menu of whiskies means that you’ll be spoiled for choice with whiskies from around the world, including Japanese and Taiwanese whisky. T15 Bar is certainly a playground for whisky-lovers!

Will we return to T15 Bar?

Sure, why not? T15 Bar is only a 5-minute ride away from JB’s City Square mall and it’s a great place to wind down with friends during a JB weekend getaway.

Although T15 Bar has an impressive list of whiskies, there’s still a good amount of cocktail options to keep you occupied through the night even if you’re not into whiskies.

T15 Bar can get real busy on Friday nights and weekends (we’ve seen disappointed groups turned away), so it’s best for you to arrive early around 10pm. If you’re coming in a group, simply make a reservation for the sofa seats, you’ll probably meet the minimum spend anyway.
