Things You Need to Know About the Best China Freight Forwarders & Shipping
Everything in China works a little differently and freight forwarding is no exception. Unlike US and UK freight forwarding, China offers both:
- Air Freight (average 4 – 8 days)
- Sea Freight (average 8 – 15 days)
For items of small to medium sizes like cute home fitness equipment, you can stick to Air Freight for its quick shipment. However, if you’re looking to ship bulky and heavy items like this affordable Muji-style furniture, you should choose Sea Freight because it’s economical, despite the longer duration.
Hence, unlike my Best US Freight Forwarders Singapore and Best UK Freight Forwarders Singapore guides, I’ll have to split this China Freight Forwarders Guide into two sections for a clearer comparison. You can click on the individual comparisons to jump directly to the section!

Updates About Storage Fees (入库费)
But first — it’s been brought to our attention that there have been cases of unexpected warehouse fees for bulky items. Why does this happen? Well, sellers are preempting situations (i.e. rejections) that commonly happen when an item is large, especially when you use Cainiao as a shipping option. Thus, these sellers charge a warehouse fee to cover the cost of delivery in case the items get rejected. However, there are moments when they charge just to earn extra cash from consumers who don’t know about this fee. While most sellers won’t charge, we advise shoppers to switch sellers whenever this happens.
