🌸 Uminonakamichi Seaside Park – Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is a popular flower-viewing spot with millions of blooms, including tulips, roses, and hydrangeas, blooming from mid-March to early autumn. It also features around 2,000 cherry trees, mainly the Somei Yoshino and Oshima varieties, which come together to create blossom tunnels from late March to early April.

🌸 Nishi Park (Nishi Koen) – Nishi Park is a seaside park located on a small hill in Fukuoka City. It’s home to around 1,300 cherry trees and is renowned as one of the city’s best spots for cherry blossoms. In spring, the park attracts many visitors who come to enjoy the blooms and its viewing platforms that offer stunning views of Fukuoka City, Hakata Bay, and nearby islands. 

🌸 Atago Shrine – Atago Shrine, perched on a hill with breathtaking views of Fukuoka and Hakata Bay, is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot with around 2,000 cherry trees. The shrine features several varieties of cherry trees, including early and late bloomers. The steep approach and hilltop grounds are adorned with cherry trees, which are beautifully illuminated at night.

Where to see cherry blossoms in Kagoshima:

🌸 Yoshino Park – This park is a popular flower viewing spot with over 800 sakura trees and a view of Sakurajima, an active volcano in Kagoshima Bay.

🌸 Senganen Garden – An ideal place to appreciate the sakura season within the setting of a traditional Japanese garden, ponds and bamboo included! As Senganen is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site linked to the Industrial Revolution in Japan, it also houses culturally significant buildings of that era.

🌸 Kotsukigawa Riverside – A scenic riverside location for viewing cherry blossoms, with trees lining the banks and creating a scenic corridor! It is only a short walk from Kagoshima Chuo Station.

🌸 Sakurajima Dinosaur Park – Located on the volcanic island of Sakurajima, this family-friendly park features dinosaur-themed playgrounds. Viewing hundreds of cherry blossoms among dinosaur structures is certainly quite a unique take.
