From thrilling rides to hidden chill zones, this Lotte World Seoul guide covers everything you need to plan the perfect day (or two) out!
Lotte World remains one of our favourite Seoul stops for 2025… and here’s why.
If you ask us, there’s something pretty magical about theme parks, and Lotte World has it all. From oversized snacks, the thrill of a good ‘ol loop-de-loop, and the fact that no one will judge you for squealing like a child — because they’re doing the same!
A stone’s throw from central Seoul (read: extremely public transport-friendly), Lotte World is super accessible by public transport. It’s also pretty well-rounded: Part indoor, part outdoor, with over 40 rides, an enormous aquarium, a Korean folk museum, and even Korea’s tallest building (Lotte World Tower) next door. How convenient.
So, whether you’re a thrill-seeker, travelling with kids, or just here for the Instagram-worthy school uniform rentals and cute photo-ops, this 2025 Lotte World guide covers everything you need to know to make the most of your visit.

Lotte World Theme Park Overview: What To Expect
So you’ve made it! While the park may seem overwhelmingly big, it’s actually pretty straightforward to navigate. It is, ultimately, just split into two zones — Lotte World Adventure and Magic Island, which are located indoors and outdoors, respectively.
Lotte World Adventure (Indoor)

Think of it as Seoul’s answer to Disneyland, but under a giant dome. There are multi-level rides, a whimsical little castle, long parade routes, drool-worthy food stalls, and even a skating rink! It’s air-conditioned, has tons of themed areas for all the incoming #OOTD shots, and even a mirror maze, just in case you want to shake things up.

Magic Island (Outdoor)

Cross a bridge and you’ll be on Magic Island, the outdoor park set on West Seokchon Lake. This is where the big thrill rides are — think roller coasters, gyro drops, and a castle that lights up at night. It gets chilly in winter but is insanely pretty, especially during cherry blossom season!

Must-know tips:
- Relive your high school days and rent a school uniform. Yes, really. ICMYI, it’s a thing in Korea. Uniform rental shops near Jamsil Station offer dozens of styles and colours for couples, besties or full squads.
- Download the Lotte World app to check ride wait times and show schedules, so that you don’t waste too much time! Our recommendation? Prioritise the thrill rides first, because wait times go up exponentially later on in the day.

When To Visit Lotte World

Timing your visit well can really make or break your theme park experience. If you can, schedule your trip on a weekday — preferably between Monday to Thursday. Crowds are significantly lighter, which means shorter queues, more ride time, and a less frantic pace overall.
Weekends tend to draw in both tourists and locals, especially families, so be prepared for longer lines if that’s your only option!

As for the best months to visit, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) hit the sweet spot. You’ll get pleasant weather, fewer tourists than peak summer, and some seasonal events like cherry blossoms in spring or Halloween-themed parades in October.
The good news is that Lotte World has your back, rain or shine! Indoor Adventure keeps the fun going even during Seoul’s rainy summer days or frigid winters, while Magic Island provides a breezy escape when temperatures soar. Definitely a win-win for us.
