The F1 Runway: Lewis Hamilton’s Most Iconic Race Day Looks

They say Lewis Hamilton should consider a career in fashion after retirement, and they’re not wrong. The F1 champion with the most wins, poles, and titles is indeed multi-talented. Here is a 10-outfit lookbook of Lewis Hamilton’s most iconic race day looks to kick your fashion inspo into fourth gear!

Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to being an icon. With seven World Drivers’ Championship titles, he has been breaking his own records without any preemption and is now effortlessly broadening his panache into iconic outfits. Partnering with stylist Law Roach (who’s also styled Zendaya and Kanye West), Hamilton goes full-on when incorporating new textures and colours into his looks. And his success is no shock either. Alongside being the new ambassador for Valentino, Lewis Hamilton also owns his clothing line TOMMYXLEWIS in a collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger.

With him returning to Singapore for the Grand Prix, we can’t wait to see which style he brings next. Until then, here are some iconic race day looks served by Lewis Hamilton, seamlessly blurring lines between motorsport racing and the runway!

Autumn is a-coming! Sporting the Loewe S23 collection by creative director, Jonathan Anderson, Hamilton arrives stylish in a refreshing yet cosy green fuzzy sweater and blue bunched jeans. A bit of silver hardware and sunnies finish the comfortable and confident look as Hamilton preps for the 2022 F1 Belgian GP’s qualifying session.

2. Feeling Blue?

Well, trust us when we say there’s nothing remotely blue about this unapologetically azure monochromatic co-ord. With a bucket (hat) full of charisma, Lewis Hamilton accessorises with shades that are effortlessly cool. Taking it to his homeland, the Englishman dons London knitwear brand — AGR, blue Versace pants, and highlighting it with white Maison Valentino sneakers at the Austrian Grand Prix in 2022.

Hamilton claims yet another one of his fashion moments by appearing in this mustard, clean pleated two-piece set from Homme Plissé Issey Miyake and chunky shoes to balance the look. Adding elements of texture with his tattooed arms and striking silver jewellery, Hamilton makes a summery entrance at the Circuit Paul Ricard Le Castellet, France in July 2022.

4. Pretty In Pink

Once upon a time, Sir Lewis Hamilton walked into the Belgian Grand Prix 2022 with a hot pink Balaklava with knitted flowers wrapped around his face. This outfit caused ripples in the fashion world as the iconic DCGS Balaklava was either received superbly or compared to a tea-cosy by those who were a little more critical. Put together by Law Roach, the outfit combines pink threads in different textures and fat white sneakers, giving the whole look a comfortable and stylish feel. While also vaguely reminding us of a Pink Power Ranger.

5. Check That Out

You ride in on a scooter to surveil the Mugello Circuit in Tuscany. You’re wearing a Madras checked shirt, shorts, and hat combo from MSGM’s Spring/Summer collection, red-tinted sunglasses, and responsibly, a face mask to protect yourself from the pandemonium and the crowd can’t get enough of you. Well, you’re probably Lewis Hamilton — one of the few who can pull the look off. BTW, you also win the inaugural 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix!

As Hamilton returns to Turkey in 2021, who can possibly resist the need to look twice at this Burberry quilt Hamilton casually rocks around the Istanbul Park Circuit? Ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix, wearing matching trousers and a blouse also by Burberry, Hamilton completes the look with chunky boots and a slender leather cross-body bag for the final touch.

Lewis Hamilton arrives at the Red Bull Ring in Austria in a purple cargo outfit, and we absolutely love it! After all, purple is our favourite colour. Wearing a full attire of Fendi and Bottega Veneta Tire Boots in Black Plum, Hamilton adds a Kenzo apron jacket and ties his braid in bunches to keep it clear for the Austria Red Bull Ring Circuit in 2021.

8. Red-dy to Race?

As rightly captioned in his Instagram post, Hamilton brought the “Heat to Miami” in this iconic outfit as styled by Roach. Staying true to the red and white signature F1 colours, the 37-year-old dons a red and blue colour-block faux jacket and matching pants from Swiss label, Daily Paper. Baring his tats and adding some silver and sunnies, Hamilton readies himself for the final event at the Miami International Autodrome in 2022.

For an F1 Event in 2020 in Nürburg, Germany, Hamilton dons a newspaper-print denim shirt and straight-leg jeans co-ord from the Dior x Daniel Arsham collection. He adds a masterstroke to the black and white look with a popping neon-green hat, shades, and face mask to stay safe. How’s that for breaking news?

We can’t focus on the outfit with Roscoe in the picture looking fly than ever, but here goes nothing! Hamilton strolls unencumbered in Turkey with his most faithful friend ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix. Dressed in a Prada shirt and Honor the Gift’s Mechanic Uniform Pants, he tops his look with Off-White Out of Office sneakers and circular sunglasses. Dressed to impress, he emerged winning his seventh champion title at this 2020 Turkey Grand Prix, equalling his record with Michael Schumacher. And he did that in style.
