1. Isle of Wight — England
Dating back to the late 1960s, the Isle of Wight Festival was originally a counterculture event held between the 2968 to 1970. The high turn-out of over 600,000 people in 1970 led to restrictions on overnight open-air gatherings, and the event stopped before it was revived again in 2002. One of the highlights is the campgrounds and other attractions like carnival rides that are open to festival attendees which make for a communal, family-friendly kind of experience.
Discounted tickets are available for teens and younger kids, while babies and toddlers can be at the event for free. The Isle of Wight is an island about two hours away from London and is accessible by ferry, so you would have to factor in the time it takes to get to the island and book your ferry tickets in advance.
