The colourful geometric glass facade and main entrance of Komtar JBCC

Right next to the checkpoint, JB’s easiest mall now has a full shop list and a dinosaur park where Angry Birds used to be

Komtar JBCC is the mall most Singaporeans hit first in JB, connected to JB Sentral by a sheltered walkway and barely a five-minute stroll from customs. It’s not the biggest mall across the Causeway, but it’s the most convenient, and the tenant list has changed a lot since the last update.

Best Things to Do in Komtar JBCC

A handful of spots are worth planning your visit around, all verified against the mall’s current directory.

Kidz Republic Indoor Theme Park

The mall’s marquee attraction on Level 3 isn’t Angry Birds anymore (more on that below). The reborn Kidz Republic Indoor Theme Park still does the job: a dinosaur-forest-themed indoor playground with an explorer tunnel, crystal cave, jungle bungee and a trampoline zone. It’s weather-proof and genuinely large enough to burn off a toddler’s whole afternoon.

Tickets run 10 MYR (~S$3.17) for adults and 30 MYR (~S$9.52) for kids on weekdays, dropping after 6 PM on the “Night Owl” rate. Weekend and public-holiday tickets run roughly double. Parents entering just to supervise still pay the adult rate.

📍 Level 3, Lot 302-308 · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily · 💰 From 10 MYR (~S$3.17) weekdays

Thai Odyssey

A proper Thai massage chain, not a back-alley one-off. Foot reflexology, aromatherapy or a full-body rub, all at a fraction of the Singapore price, and exactly what your legs want after the walk over from customs.

📍 Level 2, Lot 221C · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily

Hundred%

Hundred% streetwear store entrance at Komtar JBCC, with sneakers and apparel on display

A streetwear shop that punches above a mall this size, stocking Nike, Vans, Obey and Carhartt at prices that make the extra suitcase space worth it. It’s a tighter, more curated rack than the big-brand outlets on the ground floor. Worth a proper browse if sneakers and streetwear are the actual reason you crossed over. It’s a short walk from the rest of Level 1’s fashion cluster too. Easy to fold into the same loop as Brands Outlet and F.O.S if you’re doing a proper shop rather than a quick in-and-out.

📍 Level 1, Lot 115 · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily

Daiso

Daiso here runs the standard chaos: a quick trip in and, somehow, a trip out with five ceramic bowls and a basket of stationery you didn’t plan to buy. Worth the visit for exactly that reason.

📍 Level 3, Lot 301 · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily

Victoria’s Secret, Kiehl’s and Bath & Body Works

Where to Eat at Komtar JBCC

Komtar JBCC has more good food than its size suggests. Most of it sits on Level 2, spilling into the Souk zone’s smaller stalls.

Arashi Shabu-Shabu

Arashi Shabu-Shabu does personal hotpot sets with generous meat and veg portions and 11 soup bases to choose from. The miso or the hot and spicy milk base are the ones worth ordering. Good for a group that can’t agree on one broth.

📍 Level 2, Lot 215-216 · 🕘 11 AM–10 PM daily

Tea Garden

A Nanyang-style kopitiam chain serving herbal chicken, char kway teow and Hainanese milk tea. If you only have room for one more meal before heading back, make it this one.

📍 Level 2, Lot 233 · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily

The Dim Sum Place

A halal-certified Cantonese dim sum spot, useful if you’re travelling with a mixed group and want everyone eating off the same table. It’s on the ground floor rather than tucked into the Level 2 food cluster, so it also works as a quick first stop right after you clear the checkpoint. It’s also one of the few sit-down halal options right by the entrance, alongside The Ramen Stall and Manzanita, if the group can’t agree on a cuisine.

📍 Ground Floor, Lot G18-G19 · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily

Tony Roma’s

An American ribs chain that’s been around since 1972, now halal-certified at this outlet. Solid pick for a proper sit-down meal rather than a food-court grab.

📍 Level 2, Lot 203 · 🕘 10 AM–10 PM daily

Snacking on the move works just as well. Auntie Anne’s, Pezzo and Boost Juice are all a few steps apart on Levels 1 and 2, and the Souk zone’s Bingxue and Yumido cover dessert if the mains didn’t leave room.

What’s Changed since 2025

Two changes worth knowing before you plan around the old tenant list.

Angry Birds is gone. Kidz Republic isn’t. The Level 3 play park that used to run as Angry Birds Activity Park has been rebranded and rebuilt as Kidz Republic Indoor Theme Park, now dinosaur-forest themed instead of Angry Birds themed. Some of the old equipment carried over (regulars on review sites still recognise a few rides), but the branding, ticketing and theme are new. If you’re going specifically for Angry Birds, that version doesn’t exist here anymore.

Kapitan Grocer’s status is unclear. The mall’s own homepage directory now lists the supermarket category as “Coming Soon” and drops Kapitan Grocer entirely, but its Level 3 floor-map page still shows Kapitan Grocer as a listed tenant. The mall’s own pages disagree with each other, so treat this as a heads-up rather than a confirmed closure. Don’t plan a grocery run around it, and check on arrival.

Everything else from the mall’s headline lineup checked out as still open and at the same lots: Arashi Shabu-Shabu, Hundred%, Eyecon, Pandora, CARiNG Pharmacy, Antipodean Gold, Thai Odyssey, Good2U, Daiso and Tea Garden.

How to Get to Komtar JBCC from Singapore

  • Walking from the checkpoint. After clearing the JB CIQ, follow the signs into JB Sentral, then toward the City Square and Komtar JBCC exit. The whole walk is sheltered and takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Taking the bus. Buses 160 and 170X from Kranji MRT drop you at JB Sentral, which connects straight into the mall via a sheltered walkway. Causeway Link CW1 also runs from Kranji MRT but terminates at the JB CIQ checkpoint itself, so from there it’s the same short walk through JB Sentral into Komtar.

  • Taking the train. The KTM Shuttle Tebrau crosses from Woodlands to JB Sentral in about 5 minutes, and Komtar JBCC is a short walk from the station.

  • Driving in. Head across the Causeway, clear customs, and follow the signs to JBCC. Lots fill up fastest after noon on weekends.

Komtar JBCC Parking Guide

The car park is multi-level, runs 24 hours, and is shared with the adjoining office tower.

⚠️ Parking rates change without notice and can vary by weekday, weekend or event day. Confirm the rate board on-site before you park.

You can pay by Touch ‘n Go, Visa, Mastercard or MyDebit at the exit gantries. Touch ‘n Go reload points are available on Level 3 near the food court and on Level 4 at the car park office.

Better Malls Near Komtar JBCC

If Komtar’s four floors don’t scratch the itch, three other malls are within easy reach.

City Square JB sits right next door, connected by a short sheltered bridge, and is mid-renovation but still worth a stop for food. SKS City Mall JBCC, JB’s newest, opened in Bukit Senyum in 2026 and leans café and family-friendly. KSL City Mall is the bigger day-out option, about a 10-minute drive out, with 500+ shops, a cinema and go-karting.

Paying in Ringgit at Komtar JBCC

YouTrip app and Mastercard on a phone, held up against Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Twin Towers

Most shops and restaurants here take card, so there’s no real need to queue at the in-mall money changer. The cheapest order to do it in:

  1. Pay by card with YouTrip. MYR is one of the 12 currencies you can hold in your YouTrip wallet, so lock in the rate before you cross, then tap to spend at the wholesale exchange rate with zero foreign transaction fee.

  2. Carry a little cash for parking and small stalls. Withdraw ringgit from an in-country ATM rather than a money changer. Your first S$400 of overseas ATM withdrawals each month is free with YouTrip, then it’s a flat 2% after that, still cheaper than most changer markups.

  3. Keep Touch ‘n Go topped up for the car park and any tolls on the way in.

Tip: Skip the money-changer queue entirely and save with better rates for more ringgit in your pocket on your next meal.
