Planning a visit to Vietnam from Singapore via the Hanoi VTL beginning 16 March? Whether you prefer hanging around town or spending your time in the hills of Sa Pa — here’s all you need to know.
With rolling misty hills, UNESCO-protected waters populated with limestone caves, and an average yearly temperature of 25 degrees celsius, Hanoi has been at the top of my travel bucket list for a while now. While many assumed Ho Chi Minh City to be the capital of Vietnam because of its vibrant cosmopolitan presence, Hanoi is the actual heart of the nation. After 40 years of being tucked away from the world’s economy, the city has been busy playing catch up after its reopening in the 1990s. It’s been 31 years since, and Hanoi has more than made up for the time lost. Think skyscrapers and four-wheeled vehicles — all the while retaining its battle scars like tattoos stamped on the layers of French and Chinese architecture all around the city. If you, too, are planning to embark on an adventure via the Hanoi VTL that will be launched on 16 March, here’s all you need to know.
