While Malaysia, Japan, and Australia remain as the overall top destinations for Singaporean travellers in 2019, Gen Y and Gen X travellers have also ventured to off the beaten track destinations.
Off The Beaten Track in 2019
Uncommon destinations have been gaining lots of traction in the past year, especially when travellers can now easily access niche currencies via their YouTrip mobile travel wallet.
Among the 161 countries that YouTroopers have visited in 2019, the top 3 uncommon destinations for Gen Y travellers aged 23 to 38 were Luxembourg, Peru, and Saudi Arabia.
For Gen X travellers aged 39 to 54, their off the beaten track choices were Mexico, Slovakia, and Montenegro.
Off The Beaten Track in 2020
As off the beaten track destinations continue to gain more popularity, we’ve found 3 destinations that stood out particularly: Chile, Romania, and Mongolia
Compared to the average 42% growth of other off the beaten track destinations, Chile, Romania, and Mongolia saw an average 76% growth in the number of unique YouTrip visitors. That’s impressive!
