There were so many things to do in Busan, making it a perfect escape from the fast-paced rhythm of Seoul. If you’re wondering how to get from Seoul to Busan, we’ve got you covered with all the best options to make your journey smooth and enjoyable. Bonus point: It’s only a two-hour train ride away from Seoul!
We typically spent our mornings checking out different cafes, exploring attractions like Blueline Sky Park and Gamcheon Culture Village, and spending the nights listening to buskers against the backdrop of the setting sun at Haeundae Beach.
Busan is also a food lover’s paradise, with Korean goodies like hotteok, fried chicken, and gimbap at Gukje Market, as well as fresh seafood at Jagalchi Fish Market.

Getting from Seoul to Busan
There are plenty of options to travel from Seoul to Busan. Depending on your budget and preferences, you can choose to take a train, an express bus, or a flight.
✈️ The fastest: Flight
If you’re heading to Busan right at the start of your trip, flying might be the best option. Round-trip flights start from as low as ₩59,800 (~S$55.70), with multiple flights available daily. The flight takes about an hour, but be sure to factor in travel time to and from the airport.
🚌 The cheapest: Bus
For budget travellers, the Korean Intercity bus is a great option. Tickets start from ₩23,000 (~S$21.42), and the journey takes about four to five hours. Buses from Seoul to Busan depart up to five times per hour, and you can choose from various seating options for added comfort.

🚝 The most popular: KTX Train
Taking the train from Seoul to Busan is the most popular option — if you’re not travelling on a budget. Not only will you get to Busan within three hours, but you’ll also get scenic views you otherwise might not get to experience.
A round-trip ticket would cost around ₩119,600 (~S$111.41), but you can opt for a multi-day KTX rail pass if you’re planning to travel around quite a bit. Don’t worry, there are no zombies onboard the train to Busan.

Built back in the early 1300s, this stunning Buddhist temple is known for its location by the sea which offers breathtaking views of the coastline. Haedong Yonggung is dedicated to Gwanseum-bosal (Goddess of Compassion) and is also known to be one of the best spots to catch the sunrise. 8. Jagalchi Fish Market

It doesn’t get any fresher than this. Explore the Jagalchi Fish Market and enjoy the best seafood Busan has to offer on the spot! The first floor of the market is lined with stalls, each selling different kinds of seafood that Busan is known for. After choosing your pick, you can have your seafood cooked at one of the restaurants on the second floor of the building. The oysters, sashimi, and raw marinated crab are some of the must-tries while you’re there!

9. Songdo Yonggun Suspension Bridge

Admiring sea views from the coastline is one thing, but walking literally on top of the water is a whole other experience. The Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge will give you panoramic views of the ocean and of the coastline of Busan. Besides the bridge and Songdo Beach that’s right beside it, the bridge is also next to the Songdo Cable Car which takes you from Songdo Sky Park to Amnam Park.

10. Bosu-dong Book Alley

Calling all bookworms! This one’s for you. This hidden gem is the Bosu-dong Book Alley which is home to dozens of second-hand bookstores and antique shops. These stores started out as an affordable way for people to get their hands on second-hand books after the Korean War, but are now a treasure trove of antique literature and furniture too. Some of the more popular stores include the Bosu Bookstore which is known for its range of books and magazines, and the Cheonghak Bookstore which has great selections for the little ones too.

11. Lotte World Busan

Lotte World Busan is the latest to join the likes of the theme parks in Seoul and Jeju under the Lotte World chain. The park offers a mix of thrilling rides, family-friendly attractions and immersive themed zones suitable for all ages. There are six different zones, each with its unique decor, shows and rides. There are also seasonal events, parades and themed shows depending on the time of year that you visit the park.

13. Skyline Luge Busan

Race your friends down winding tracks with stunning ocean views of Songdo Beach at the Skyline Luge Busan. Similar to the Luge in Sentosa, there are three tracks with different intensities to choose from and you can also get stunning ocean views as you take the ski lift up to the top of the hill before racing down.
