Electronic Identity Verification Policy

You Technologies Group (Australia) Pty Ltd, ACN number 676703496 and AFSL number 558059 (“YouTrip Australia”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and its related entities are required by the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) to verify your identity before we can provide you with our financial products and services. We may do this using electronic verification.

  1. How electronic identity verification works

    To confirm your identity electronically, we will collect certain personal details (such as your name, address, date of birth), sensitive information (e.g., biometric data and photographs), from your identification documents. This information will be provided to external organisations to match against their databases. They will then confirm whether the details you provided match their records. We work with Onfido, who carries out this electronic verification on our behalf. External data sources may include:

    • Public records, such as the electoral roll; and
    • Information held by official record keepers, accessed via third-party systems (e.g. Commonwealth and State government departments).
    • Providing false or misleading identity information is an offence under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth).
  2. Who we share your information with

    We may share your personal information with:

    • Onfido; and
    • Official record holders via third-party systems, such as Commonwealth and State government departments.

    These organisations may use your personal information, and information about other individuals (e.g. names, addresses, dates of birth), solely for preparing identity verification assessments.

  3. Your agreement

    By attempting to sign-up for any account or service with YouTrip Australia, you agree to these terms and you confirm that:

    • The information you provide is your own and you are authorised to give it to us; and
    • We may use and disclose your personal information for electronic identity verification as described above.
  4. Withdrawal of Consent

    You may communicate your objection to our continued collection, use, and disclosure of your personal details and/or sensitive information at any time by contacting our Customer Service Team at customer.au@you.co.

    However, please take note that depending on the nature and specifics of your objection, we may not be able to continue to provide our products or services to you or perform on any contract we have with you.
