South Korea’s Ministry of Justice extended the temporary exemption by a year for all currently exempt countries. It covers 1 January to 31 December 2026 (Korea Standard Time), according to a notice republished by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

You still need a valid passport, and you’ll go through immigration like everyone else.

What changes from 1 January 2027?

Unless South Korea announces an extension, the K-ETA requirement resumes for Singapore passport holders on 1 January 2027. Korea renewed the exemption for 2026 at the end of last year, but that doesn’t guarantee another extension next year.

Until Korea announces a decision, check k-eta.go.kr before you book anything for early 2027!

What if your trip straddles the cut-off date?

If you land in Korea on or before 31 December 2026, you’re covered by the current exemption. If you land on 1 January 2027 or later, apply for K-ETA unless an extension has been announced by then.

The risky case is a late flight on 31 December. Korea is one hour ahead of Singapore, and the notices give the end date in Korea time. They don’t spell out whether the date that counts is when you board or when you land. If your flight crosses midnight at the cut-off, apply anyway or ask the K-ETA Center through the inquiry form on its site.

If you’re unsure, applying is an inexpensive backup.
