If a pump terminal auto-declines a foreign card (some do), don&#8217;t panic, just pay inside at the counter with the same card. That&#8217;s the workaround most people don&#8217;t know.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cash<\/strong>, for the odd station that won&#8217;t take your card. Withdraw MYR from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.you.co\/sg\/blog\/malaysia-atm-withdrawal\/\">an ATM when you arrive<\/a>, the first S$400 each calendar month is free with YouTrip, then a flat 2%. Skip the money changer, the rate&#8217;s baked against you there.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Touch &#8216;n Go eWallet<\/strong>, backup only. For RON97, tapping your card is simpler. If you do use TNG, top it up with your YouTrip card for competitive wholesale SGD-to-MYR rates, but note TNG adds an u<strong>p to 2.6% top-up fee<\/strong> on any non-Malaysian card (YouTrip, Revolut and Wise alike), so a direct tap still wins. Get caught below it and the fine runs up to&nbsp;<strong>S$500<\/strong>, and you may be turned back to refuel.
