    Desaru is worth it if you want a slow beach weekend without a flight, and a poor choice if you want a town. There’s no night scene to speak of, no walkable centre, and the good stuff sits scattered across a 20-minute drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What you’re paying for is proximity. It’s the only proper beach resort a Singaporean can reach in an afternoon, by road or a 90-minute ferry. The beach itself is long, clean and rarely crowded outside school holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
