Climbing a mountain doesn\u2019t have to be as daunting as it sounds. If you\u2019re looking to start small and still enjoy a beautiful view, Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand with spectacular views of the sunrise and sunset. Something unique about this trail is that it also takes you through waterfalls, paddy fields, and quaint villages along the way, with beautiful pagodas built at the summit of the mountain, giving you a glimpse into Thai culture. Doi Inthanon National Park is about 90 minutes by car away from Chiang Mai and renting a car to the start point is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The snow and Hawaii don\u2019t usually go together, but on top of Mauna Kea, that\u2019s exactly what you might get! It\u2019s one of the easier hikes that can be completed within a day, but the view isn\u2019t any less majestic. There are beautiful sunrises and sunsets to catch \u2014 with an unobstructed view of a sky full of stars at night. So if you\u2019re taking a trip to the Big Island, you\u2019d have to make a stop there! One thing to note is that Mauna Kea is considered a sacred land, so it\u2019s important to follow the signs and be respectful while you\u2019re there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This iconic mountain is a sight that most only catches a glimpse of, so why not take it a notch further and climb it? There are four trails leading to the summit of Mount Fuji with varying levels of difficulty and slightly different climbing seasons, so be sure to pick the right trail. It\u2019s recommended that the climb be split up into two days. So, take the chance to spend a night on the mountain in a mountain hut that can be booked in advance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mount Toubkal is an excellent choice to start your mountain-climbing journey. The trek takes about three days and is pretty manageable for anyone with a decent fitness level. It\u2019s the tallest mountain in North Africa and the trail takes you through lush valleys, Berber communities, and views of the mountain and from its vantage point. Trails are available all throughout the year so you can pick depending on your preference for the summer or winter ascent. Most guided tours include a pickup from Marrakech, which is a 90-minute drive away from the start point in Imlil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mount Triglav is nestled within Slovenia\u2019s only national park and is the highest mountain in the Julian Alps. The journey to the base camp starts with a six-hour trek through the forests of the national park, which is just two hours away from Ljubljana, Slovenia\u2019s capital city. The climb is not very technical but does include some steep sections that may require the use of a rope. There are different ways to get to the summit with different levels of difficulty. So whether you\u2019re an experienced climber or looking for a manageable start with slightly older kids in tow, this one\u2019s for you! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considered the easiest of the seven highest summits in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro is an excellent choice that\u2019s beginner-friendly if you want to challenge yourself and try something kinda crazy! It doesn\u2019t require the use of any special equipment or technical skills, which means that most of the hike is just putting one foot in front of the other. While the climbing is quite manageable, almost 50% of climbers don\u2019t make it to the summit due to altitude sickness, so picking a longer trek might help with the acclimatisation process to make sure that you make the most of your adventure! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With different routes available up to the summit of the glacier, Mount Aspiring is a great option for climbers with different levels of experience. The mountain lies within Mount Aspiring National Park with beautiful views and icy glacier-fed waters, so if you love the outdoors, the time spent in the park will definitely be worthwhile. Having a decent amount of stamina is important, but you don\u2019t necessarily need to have glacier or rock climbing experience depending on the route you choose.
