If you haven\u2019t already heard, street culture is making its first appearance in Singapore in the form of a sneaker exhibition called Sneakertopia<\/em>! Coming to us from Los Angeles, sneakerheads can now experience a colourful blend of street culture, sneakers, and art at ArtScience Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sneakertopia <\/em>was organised by SPACElogic with partners, Gushcloud International and SL Experiences, in collaboration with ArtScience Museum. Founded by Emmy Award-winning producer Steve Harris and Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur Steve Brow, the exhibition is all about celebrating your love for sneakers and street culture. Bathe in the culture and history of masterpieces from those who express their creativity and passion through sneakers and design! After all, it\u2019s more than just sports, hip-hop, and fashion, it\u2019s all about self-expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t call it a sneaker wonderland for nothing! Expect to walk through 10 immersive zones that explore different aspects of sneaker culture through social, cultural, and technological developments that have influenced sneaker design and wearability over the years. How? Through a showcase of 70 unique murals, large-scale installations, designs, sculptures and original artwork of varying genres, as well as over 100 limited-edition sneakers! All from international and<\/em> local artists, creatives, contributors, and brands alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore American street and pop culture through the works of talented U.S. creatives such as McFlyy, Michael Murphy, Tommii Lim, and Mimi Yoon. As well as work by Singaporean and locally-based creatives such as HURUHARA, Inkten, Juls, Kristal Melson, PHUNK, soph O, and tobyato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors can also look forward to a range of interactive experiences such as its “Sneaker Design Studio” which lets visitors design their own custom sneakers. As well as their “Sneaker Bar” where you can purchase a selection of limited edition releases!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ready to take a peek into Steve Harris\u2019 most treasured collection? An avid sneakerhead himself, The Dream Closet <\/em>is a light-up display of cherished kicks from the exhibition\u2019s CEO and co-founder himself, designed to create an optical illusion of a limitless closet fantasy for every sneaker enthusiast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Mr. Sabotage <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re into skateboarding and punk culture, you\u2019re sure to have heard of Singapore streetwear legend, Mr Sabotage. Don\u2019t miss out on his personal collection of sneakers from the original 1985 set of Nike Dunks, varsity pennants, and jackets that display his passion for sneaker collecting and customisation. As well as the recreation of a vintage cabinet from his SBTG studio which celebrates the pivotal moments in his career, sneaker culture influences from his childhood, as well as brand collaborations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. The Super Large Superstar<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Drawing inspiration from sneaker culture and hip-hop music, the artist, Smoluk, sculpted this colourful Super Large Superstar <\/em>from locally-sourced recycled materials. What it represents? The widespread influence of sneaker culture in modern society, where sneakerheads collect and exhibit their beloved footwear as art. But beyond its aesthetic appeal, Smoluk\u2019s work also serves as a critique of mass consumption and throwaway culture, making us question today\u2019s society. Something to think about, perhaps?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mural of six renowned figures (that represent different subcultures) wearing different iconic sneakers, this mural was created by Tell Your Children \u2014 a Singapore-based creative studio that aims to inspire self-expression through visual content.
