It’s finally here. The Singapore F1 season has officially begun! Just about anywhere on the island, you can find massive posters welcoming the F1 season, especially when you walk through Orchard Road. Marina Bay roads are also now reserved solely for drivers of the Verstappen and Hamilton class. Didn\u2019t get your tickets? Fear not! The Millenia Walk Linkway is hands-down the best-unobstructed view to watch F1 for free in Singapore! Situated between Marina Square and Millenia Walk, you get a bird’s-eye view of the cars speeding from under you and to the other side on the fast lanes near Turn 6. However, given its coveted location, it WILL be crowded so be there early to snag a good spot.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known to be the tallest hotel in Singapore, Swissotel stands where the cars emerge from Turn Four and onto Esplanade Park \u2014 so we can definitely trust it to have a good view of the track! Make sure you\u2019re on the Harbourfront side of the room to get the best view!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next is Millenia Walk, a mall perched so perfectly along the track that any high-floor window allows you an unobstructed view of Raffles Boulevard (Turn 5 to Turn 6) to cheer on your favourite racers while enjoying the many delicious shops and restaurants at the mall. You can also toggle between the Linkway, Marina Square, and Millenia Walk to catch the race from various points!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Smoke and Mirrors, National Gallery<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the topmost floor of the National Gallery, the rooftop bar overlooks the green Padang and the F1 Track. The Padang, when not being used as the<\/em> stage for concerts going on this weekend, is bordered by the Grandstand portion of the track. Perfect for a view of the speed machines gearing up during the practice and qualifying races. Smoke and Mirrors <\/em>also has a delectable assortment of art-inspired cocktails to fuse a whole new concoction merging together art and F1. The Helix Bridge that swirls its way to Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands may be partly closed by race officials. But it still remains a sure-fire spot to view the race in the Grandstand Bay Area (T18 – T21) \u2014 especially when the cars zoom in for the final homestretch to cross the finish line. However, be early to chope<\/em> a spot for any good views! And don\u2019t be surprised if you suddenly find yourself in a mosh pit of F1 fans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Want to stay in and watch the races from a colonial historic building? The Fullerton stands proudly and grandly overlooks Turn 11 and Turn 14 at the corner of Zone Four \u2014 a great spot to see your favourite drivers zip through crazy turns and corners. North-facing rooms have spectacular views of the on-track action, including the Esplanade Room, which is perfect when the cars turn back onto Esplanade Drive. Just be sure you get the Marina Bay room instead of the Quay room, or it would merely be an auditory experience than an audio-visual one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mandarin Oriental is a perfect spot for those wanting to get up and personal with a view of the track from Turn Six and Turn Seven, as well as Turn 15 to Turn 18. Given its central location in the route, Mandarin Oriental is quick to fill up during the F1 season with patrons of the sport. Good luck with trying to get rooms quickly! If not a room, Mandarin Oriental also has some rooftop bars that are worth trying and are equipped with a great vantage point to watch the drivers speed by.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s how you can catch it: The 12th floor has a massive window on the left that overlooks the city \u2014 especially in Suntec City and Marina Bay, of the cars that roll down Esplanade Bridge to Raffles at lightspeed. Pretty cool, right? Hey, but it\u2019s a library, so SHHH! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not unlike National Day, the Esplanade Roof Terrace also becomes a prime location to catch the F1 track and vibrant fireworks during the Grand Prix season. Providing a great view from Raffles Avenue to Esplanade Drive (T13 – T15), the roof terrace is also a great spot for picnicking! So bring along some food and a mat, as the great races begin! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
