Meet eight ladies from the YouTrip team who have been driving our work of creating the best multi-currency experience in the region, despite being in a male-dominated industry. <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a female-led company, if there’s one thing we’re all about \u2014 it’s uplifting women in the workplace. Since Day 1, we\u2019ve made it our goal to celebrate all voices in our workplace. How do we do that? Well, it’s a simple balance between ensuring zero bias in the workplace as well as helping all staff equally through the various stages of their career. For moments when there\u2019s self-doubt or past biases, we make sure to nurture and support. With this mantra in mind, YouTrip is proud to say that we have achieved a 50\/50 gender parity in our company \u2014 higher than the Southeast Asian industry standard of 32%<\/a>. This International Women’s Day, we are bringing eight of YouTrip\u2019s ladies to the forefront \u2014 each representing one of our diverse teams that are driving our work of creating the best multi-currency experience for the region and their hopes for the industry so that all women – and men – can be #GoingPlaces together. together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the theme of #GoingPlaces, I hope to see more companies transform themselves into caring, connected, and inclusive workplaces that support and propel women into leadership roles. “My role puts me in a fun and privileged position to directly shape products used by even our own friends and family.  It\u2019s this laser focus on our users\u2019 needs and the power to bring new ideas to life that\u2019s truly exciting. I’ve also been fortunate to work alongside wonderful male and female colleagues my whole career – including peers, subordinates, and bosses. I know that won\u2019t be everyone\u2019s experience so my hope is that more women will receive the ample support that I\u2019ve had from people who never made me feel like I was different or less  – even when I was the only woman in the room.<\/em><\/em>“<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

“People have the perception that handling data is mundane, but it actually requires ample creativity \u2014 in how we crunch the numbers, make sense of the data and translate them into useful insights for the team. I\u2019ve also learned to keep my eye on the bigger picture and not sweat the minute details that hold us back.  Likewise, this IWD, I hope for more women to look past the biases, societal judgments and focus on their bigger ambition. And this can only be achieved in an environment where people are uplifted and recognised for their achievements.<\/em><\/em><\/em>“<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

“Having this opportunity to work off a blank canvas since YouTrip\u2019s Day 1 in Thailand has made it the most thrilling, and adventurous ride in my career. From ground zero, we built up processes, created new partnerships and most importantly, cultivated our group of loyal YouTrip users in the country. This made me see that we can achieve things beyond the possible when we set our minds to them. Similarly, I wish more ladies will dream big, and trust in themselves to rise to that leadership role they deserve. I encourage young people – women and men – to be open-minded and take that leap of faith to challenge themselves in areas they\u2019ve never been.
