The breeze is cool, and the sun is covered by the clouds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Germaine was our staff of the day, attending to our every request and questions about their signature drinks and food. She even revealed the history behind the name, \u2018Lantern\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s called \u2018Lantern\u2019 because right below us was The Clifford Pier, where real boats and ships docked back in the day. Previously, its purpose was to see incoming boats and ships. Today, it\u2019s meant as a neat little trick to see what people on the other side of the water are doing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike the upbeat music of other traditional clubs, Lantern has downtempo music blaring in the background, creating the perfect setting to unwind with a glass of wine in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lantern Bar Menu at The Fullerton Bay Hotel: Drinks, Happy Hour &amp; Food<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div href=\"https:\/\/cdn.galaxy.tf\/unit-media\/tc-default\/uploads\/applications\/restaurant_document\/001\/606\/374\/lantern-beverage-menu-2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">drinks menu<\/a>. Unless you\u2019re well-read about alcohol, the drinks menu may be a little confusing. Thankfully, Germaine\u2019s knowledge about Lantern\u2019s food and drinks came in extremely handy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re undecided about which drinks to go for, ask the staff! We each had two rounds of drinks, both recommended by Germaine after we shared our personal preferences. Here&#8217;s our review: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Imperial Berry Mojito (S$28): <\/strong>This drink was tangy, slightly spicy and minty. It was kind of interesting because nothing on its ingredient list (barrel-aged rum, lime juice, berries, fresh mint, La Perruche brown sugar and champagne) suggested anything spicy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Red Lantern (S$24): <\/strong>This was one of their signature drinks. It was relatively easy to drink, tasting tropical, fruity and sweet, with a hint of green. It was made out of Tequila Gold, watermelon, cucumber, lime juice and sugar syrup. Definitely, a drink to enjoy under the blaring sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mad About Yuzu (S$25):<\/strong> If coffee didn&#8217;t get you up in the morning, this drink definitely would. The citrus tang will hit you on the first sip, before the sweetness sets in in the middle notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sweet Passion Sling (S$25):<\/strong> Another one of their signatures, this had  London Dry Gin, peach liqueur, raspberries, peach puree, pineapple juice, and cane syrup in it. It had texture and it was sweet. It&#8217;s also Lantern\u2019s interpretation of the Singapore Sling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Temasek (S$24): <\/strong>Also another signature, and a personal favourite of mine, it was made up of London Dry Gin, Campari, bitters, grapefruit juice, lime juice, raspberry fruit, pomegranate syrup, and sugar syrup. That combination added the right balance of tang, fragrance, herbiness and sweetness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(BONUS) Lobster Roll with Truffle Fries (S$39):<\/strong> We had to order some bites, because why wouldn&#8217;t we? You\u2019d certainly want to after getting the munchies from drinking too much. I\u2019m happy to report that this roll was more lobster than mayonnaise. The lobster was tender and springy, while the mayo was creamy without being too eggy. The brioche bun was suitably soft for a fresh braceface like me to bite into. Truffle oil was lightly drizzled over the dish, giving it the right amount of punch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P.S.: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.galaxy.tf\/unit-media\/tc-default\/uploads\/applications\/restaurant_document\/001\/608\/257\/lantern-tipples-nibbles-menu.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Happy hour<\/a> happens from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Mondays to Saturdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lantern Bar Service at The Fullerton Bay Hotel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Germaine was patient with us the entire time, as she answered our incessant questions and dealt with our indecision while looking at the menu.
