Of course, why wouldn\u2019t it be? Word on the street is that it\u2019s always fully booked, and reservations are hard to come by unless you book it early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this point<\/em>, you\u2019re probably wondering what\u2019s so hot about The Landing Point\u2019s high tea buffet. I have just the pictures and words to describe why that\u2019s the case, so scroll down to find out…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way to The Fullerton Hotel lobby, you will pass by The Landing Point, whose corridor is surrounded by high glass windows and chandeliers, as well as ornate floor tiles. It\u2019s the perfect mix of modern and minimalist architectural design and old-school luxury, giving The Landing Point the feeling of elevation and airiness, whilst still being cosseted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Architecture and interior design is only one side of the story though. For it to be a 5-star hotel high tea buffet, the service must be just as cosseting. From the start to the end point of The Landing Point\u2019s high tea buffet experience, Daniel took care of us, making sure our requests were attended to, and our table always filled with food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel escorted us down from the reception counter to the windowed corner of The Landing Point, where he told us that these were the best seats in the house. It\u2019s not hard to see why, the high windows give you unparalleled views of the Marina Bay Promenade, the 13-metre bar counter is right next to you, and the couches give you an incredibly comfortable seating experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s not to say that the other seats are bad; if you\u2019re next to the windows, you\u2019re good to go for the views and the clout. Be warned though, you might not get these seats because they\u2019re highly sought after by guests, and that The Landing Point is always fully booked on peak periods. Be sure to come by on a relaxing weekday to secure not only a booking, but also the best seats!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we got comfortable with our seats and acquainted with the menu<\/a>, Daniel informed us that the savouries, coffees and tea were free flow, but the sweets weren\u2019t. Not exactly sure why that\u2019s the case, but I\u2019d wager a guess that it\u2019s for health and logistical reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also asked Daniel if the high tea buffet menu at The Landing Point is the same as The Fullerton Hotel\u2019s The Courtyard high tea<\/a>. His reply? \u201cYes, it\u2019s the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To that end, we were served a special festive menu<\/a> themed around Christmas. There\u2019s nothing very Christmas-y about the savouries, but the sweets definitely take the cake for the festive vibes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, if you\u2019re a fan of one of the savouries, and not the others, you can actually request to have refills of that one savoury. Here are some of the savouries that we went second and third rounds for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter Truffle Cheese Egg Mayonnaise on Spinach Bread: <\/strong>Okay, hear me out on this one. I know you think that this is super basic but this stuff is elevated. The truffle is noticeable but not overpowering, the bread is super soft and the egg is not too eggish. It\u2019s the perfect palate opener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Norwegian Salmon Gravlax with Cream Cheese and Blinis: <\/strong>This one is a bit of a personal bias because I eat anything that is salmon. I love it for everything that it is; it\u2019s fatty, neutral-tasting, whilst the cheese adds an interesting tinge. Bite down on the soft bread and you\u2019d sooner realise you\u2019re wanting for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dill Marinated Bay Shrimp with Remoulade and Saffron Bun: <\/strong>This stuff tastes expensive. Much like the Gravlax, it\u2019s soft and neutral-tasting, but the saffron bun has a slight spice edge to it, and the remoulade adds a very expensive-tasting brine to the savoury. Need more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sweets are a treat. I enjoyed most of them, so here are a few:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dark Cherries Red Velvet Mini Swiss Roll: <\/strong>As someone who hates cherries because of how much they taste like paracetamol, this is a welcome surprise. The cherry is a very slight hint, whilst the red velvet is just the right amount of sweet and it\u2019s not cheesy at all. It\u2019s the first thing I reached for, to wash the savoury flavours from my tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mini Madagascar Mont Blanc Tart: <\/strong>I had no idea what a Mont Blanc pastry was until I tried this; I only knew of the perfume. Turns out it\u2019s a type of chestnut pastry; I found it the most savoury out of all the pastries because of the nutty creaminess, and the tart was not too hard for a fresh braceface like me to bite into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic Mini Stollen:<\/strong> This is a type of fruity, baked bread that\u2019s usually served during Christmas; it\u2019s the perfect companion to the wide selection of coffees and teas that The Landing Point serves. It’s a little marmalade-y, cinnamon-y and very soft. Not crumbly, eat separately or dip together with tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festive Macaron: <\/strong>Perfect to close off the food with. The crust is solid and very thin, and gives way when you bite into the soft bun. When your teeth reaches the center, it meets a minty surprise; it\u2019s a refreshing minty dark chocolate filling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classic & Cranberry Scones: <\/strong>These are the same scones from the ones we had at The Courtyard<\/a>. They\u2019re light, fluffy and delicately plain; it goes well with the cream cheese and cranberry jam that they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fullerton Express Tea: <\/strong>I asked Daniel, and Josephine, previously, about what\u2019s in this insanely addictive magic elixir. They remained tight-lipped about the blend of wildflowers in this tea; it\u2019s floral, sweet (but not sugared!) and very easy to sip on. It\u2019s the perfect companion tea for all these sweets and savouries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not gonna lie, being seated next to the 13-metre bar counter helps a lot when getting our savouries and drinks refilled. We went on a Tuesday, and despite it being a weekday it was fully booked. Staff were moving around quickly with hushed footsteps as they attended to every guests\u2019 need, with a composure only I could dream of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite it being a relatively busy Tuesday, Daniel still checked in on us every now and then, asking us if we would like refills, or even making conversation with us. I definitely felt like I was taken care of and attended to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen. Going for high tea is all about the bougie vibes, and The Landing Point delivers stunningly in all aspects of that; from the architecture, the service, the food itself and the presentation of food. It\u2019s the perfect way to treat yourself and someone else to something nice as 2020 comes to a close, and plan out what your 2021 is going to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about it, sit down, nibble on the savoury and sweets, wash it down with the wide selection of teas and coffees, whilst having a hushed conversation on the comfy couch and glancing periodically across the massive glass windows to see the Marina Bay Promenade. It\u2019s a whole vibe to live for, and frankly, worth paying for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
