We’re all aware that the world is changing rapidly as we get used to the “new normal” of living with COVID-19. If that’s pricked your ears, it’s also pricked the ears of several airlines. In response to this gradual opening of our borders, some airlines are even beginning to schedule flights out of Singapore. Here’s a summary of popular airlines and their upcoming re-opened flight routes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important:<\/strong> Keep in mind that most countries still aren’t letting foreign nationals in at the moment. This means that even if these airlines have opened up their flight routes, you still may not be able to enter the respective countries<\/strong>, unless you’re a citizen or residing there. Which Airlines are Resuming Flights Out of Singapore?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1) Air France<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air France<\/span><\/a> is slated to start operating flights to 150 locations within their current network. In the coming months, you’ll be able to fly from Singapore to Paris on Air France. Make sure you keep an eye on France’s travel restrictions<\/span><\/a> for any changes that will allow Singaporeans in. Unfortunately, a flight schedule has yet to be released. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Airways<\/span><\/a> has commenced flights from Singapore. They have yet to publish a flight schedule, although flights from Singapore to London are currently running every other day. Restrictions British Airways has in place:<\/strong> Like almost every airline, you have to wear a mask for the duration of your flight. You’ll also need to check in via the British Airways app, or online. Cathay Pacific<\/span><\/a> is one of the first few airlines to announce longer haul flights departing from Singapore. Cathay has yet to release a complete schedule of their flight dates to all their destinations, though you can check the tentative dates<\/span><\/a> on the Cathay Pacific website to check the availability of flights to your destinations. Below are a few flights that are scheduled to depart from Singapore in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restrictions that Cathay Pacific have in place: <\/strong>If you present with any COVID-19 symptoms, you’ll be denied the opportunity to board your flight. It’s also mandatory to make a health declaration before boarding, as well as to wear a face covering during every part of your flight. Emirates<\/span><\/a> will be flying from Singapore to Dubai from 7 July, 2020, with the United Arab Emirates beginning to receive tourists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan Airlines<\/span><\/a> <\/span>is now operating several flights from Singapore \u2013 to Japan, of course. These flights are slated to run regularly on a weekly basis, so keep an eye out for any changes on Japan’s travel policy<\/span><\/a> to see if they’ll allow Singaporeans in anytime soon. Restrictions that Japan Airlines have in place:<\/strong> You’ll be required to wear a face mask for the duration of your flight, and seat booking will be reduced on most flights to accommodate the need for social distancing. Jetstar<\/span><\/a> has resumed operating several regional flights on a weekly bases, although they don’t offer a complete flight schedule with dates. It seems that Jetstar has suspended flights till 31st July, 2020. Flights currently running are only for citizens\/residents returning to their home country. Korean Air<\/span><\/a> is joining the ranks of airlines operating flights out of Changi Airport. The available flights will only operate between Singapore and Incheon Airport. While South Korea isn’t currently allowing foreign nationals, make sure you keep an eye out for any changes to South Korea’s immigration policy<\/span><\/a>. There isn’t a full schedule with specific flight dates, but you can refer to the tentative flight schedule<\/span><\/a> on Korean Air’s website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scoot<\/span><\/a> is planning to operate several flights out of Singapore in the coming months. While these countries don’t currently allow foreign nationals into the country, fingers crossed that will change in the near future.
