After all that anticipation, I finally sunk my teeth into the Cheeseburger. Oh boy…

Never have I had such a soft and juicy burger. The first few things I noticed was the softness of the bun, juiciness of the patty, and how well-balanced the condiments were. The amount of sauces was just right and that’s why the bun never became soggy.

The saltiness of the cheese and pickles complimented the sweet ketchup and sour mustard, while the beef patty remained juicy and tender. Trust me when I say the only thing that could beat this amount of balance is a gymnast walking on a tightrope!

Cheeseburger: 5 / 5

Hoodburger is also famed for its juicy chicken tenders. I went a little overboard in ordering myself another burger – the Tender Supreme (A$16 / S$14.96), a chicken tender version of Hoodburger’s Cheeseburger.

Same bun, same cheese, same pickles, but instead of ketchup and mustard, the Tender Supreme had mayonnaise which complimented the chicken tender better. After having the Tender Supreme, I could never look at McSpicy the same way again. If McSpicy is H&M, the Tender Supreme is Balenciaga. Elevated. High Food-shion. Expensive. Worth every dollar.

The tender is made from chicken breast, but I don’t know what kind of cauldron sorcery made it so juicy. Usually chicken breast comes out a little dry when you fry it, but this chicken tender took me to church and got me singing “All Hail Chicken Christ”.

Just imagine yourself eating a chicken tender. Sink your teeth into it, notice the crispy batter complimenting the soft chicken breast. Now, imagine a soft and buttered burger bun around it, with the mayonnaise binding the ingredients altogether, and the pickles adding a much needed crunch.

That’s exactly how great it was, and I still have dreams about it from time to time.

Tender Supreme: 5 / 5

I needed to taste the chicken tenders on its own, so I ordered a Hot & Spicy Chicken Tender (A$3.50 / S$3.27) and an Original Chicken Tender (A$3.50 / S$3.27).

The Original Chicken Tender was the same tender in the Tender Supreme burger – juicy, crispy, and everything you could ask for in a piece of fried chicken. The Hot & Spicy Chicken Tender, however, was a little too dry for my liking. The batter was also overpowering with spice.

I guess when ordering Hoodburger’s Chicken Tender’s, it’s best to stick to the Original.

Original Chicken Tender: 5 / 5
Hot & Spicy Chicken Tender: 3 / 5

No burger meal is complete without fries, so I definitely needed a serving of Hoodburger’s French Fries (A$4 / S$3.73). The potato flavour was extra rich and to my surprise, there’s even a hint of chicken tender batter!

My guess could be that they fry the fries in the same oil as the tenders… Can Hoodburger verify?

My only complaint would be that the staff went a little too trigger happy with the salt.
